The Worcester 1000 and 4000 use a different diverter valve than the other Worcester models. These new valves have two problems, they have a nasty habit of leaking and, when they do, they are an absolute pig to remove!
Sure you can use grips to try and yank the old valve out inevitably destroying the old one. But sometimes you'll damage it so much that it won't come out and you'll have to replace the whole manifold... ask me how I know :(
Enter this puller, unscrew the motor and screw this guy in. Then using a screwdriver at the end against the case for leverage and the finger trigger, pull back and the valve will just pop out.
